Giving gifts to non-muslims:
In Quran it’s commonly commanded to do virtue and favor to non-muslims. Giving gifts is one of its kinds. Allah’s statement is: “ Allah (جل جلالہ) does not stop you from doing good to them and give justice to them, those who did not fight with you on the issue of religion nor pulled you out of your houses, (remember) no doubt Allah loves those who do justice.” (Al mumtahina 8:60)
Rasool ﷺ once gave a silk suit to Syed Umer Bin Khattab رضی اللہ عنہ he said, “ Messenger of Allah ﷺ have stated that silk suit is worn by the one who have no part in Akhirah and now you are giving it to me?”, messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, “ I haven’t given this to you for wearing it instead I have given this to you to sell it and take money or else give it to someone”, so, he sent that silk suit to his mushrik brother living in Makkah as a gift. (Al Bukhari 2619). Syedena Abdullah bin amars رضی اللہ عنہ goat was slaughtered, he asked, “Has meat been sent as a gift to my Jewish neighbor? I have heard messenger of Allah ﷺ saying that Hazrat Jibrael علیہ السلام has always advised me about good attitude towards neighbors until I thought as if they will be given right in heritage”. ( Abu Dawood 5152) “Messenger of Islam’s good behavior with non muslims”, all incidents now available in form of book, must read, gift.
